Three Uniforms. One Mission.

“THE UNIFORM CHANGED. THE MISSION NEVER DID.”

"The Air Force taught me how to Serve. The San Antonio Police Department taught me the Responsibility that comes with Serving, and Teaching gave me the opportunity to pass those lessons on."

More than 40 years of service. Three careers. One continuing mission: to use those experiences to help veterans find their next purpose, help police officers become better officers, and help young people believe in what they can become.

"I'm not finished serving. I've just changed the way I do it."

U.S. AIR FORCE | SAN ANTONIO POLICE DEPARTMENT | EDUCATOR

United States AIR FORCE

1983–1992-Recalled After 9/11

At 19 years old, Kevin Coble left his hometown of Groton, Massachusetts, and joined the United States Air Force. Serving in Security Police at assignments in the United States and overseas laid the foundation for a lifetime built around service, responsibility and protecting others.

SAN ANTONIO POLICE DEPARTMENT

1993–2018 • 26 Years of Service

For 26 years, Kevin served the citizens of San Antonio as a police officer. From West Patrol Dogwatch to decades of frontline police work, the badge brought responsibility, difficult decisions, unforgettable experiences and lessons that could never be learned from a textbook.

LAW ENFORCEMENT EDUCATOR

2018–Present • Teacher • Adjunct Professor

After retiring from the San Antonio Police Department, Kevin traded the patrol car for the classroom. For eight years, he taught high school students using lessons drawn from decades of real-world experience—leadership, judgment, accountability, integrity, respect, and the responsibility that comes with serving others.

Today, Kevin continues that mission as an adjunct professor at San Antonio College and by mentoring the next generation.

SERVE • PROTECT • TEACH • INFLUENCE

Because Influence isn't another uniform. It's what came from wearing all three.

Have body cameras changed an officer's willingness to use legitimate discretion?

After 26 years with the San Antonio Police Department, I've seen technology transform policing in many positive ways. I'm not against body cameras. Accountability matters. But so does judgment.

When I was 17 years old, a police officer had every reason to arrest me—but instead, he gave me a second chance. That decision helped change the direction of my life.

I've often wondered:

"If that officer had been wearing a body camera, would he have felt comfortable making the same decision?"
